and lastly, a project I was planning since the beginning of my form, but didn't get to finish. it was a comic depicting constantine reinette's and alexandria's first meeting and exactly what they said. unfortunately, I only was able to finish the first page.
the second page, which I sketched but did not ink, is here.
here's the script that I wrote out for the comic.
constantine bends down by a grave with flowers in her hand, carrying an umbrella.
she hears a twig crack, and turns swiftly to look over her shoulder.
alexandria, hiding behind a tree, quickly ducks out of sight.
constantine: come out this instant! I don't find this funny at all, I assure you!
alexandria braces herself, then peeks out.
alexandria: um...
their eyes meet, and a mutual understanding passes.
constantine: you... you're my sister, aren't you? the one who was disowned.
alexandria winces and looks away.
alexandria: I guess so.. I mean, that's what my mom always told me, but...
constantine: my god.
alexandria: I- I'm sorry for watching you, and all. I was just curious. you never come down to the village.
constantine: be quiet. you need to come back up to the castle with me, you must be freezing.
alexandria shakes her head.
alexandria: i'm fine. I mean, I have this coat and all. aren't you cold?
constantine looks at her short sleeves and shakes her head too.
constantine: no, no... are you sure you don't want to come up anyways? I mean, it is your birthplace, I suppose you have a right to see it.
alexandria: I don't want to.
alexandria tilts her head.
alexandria: are you okay? you look really sad. it's not about your aunt or whatever, is it? we heard, but everyone said nobody knew anything about her except she was really old and rich. is it because of your wedding? it's only a couple days, you know, it'll be fine.
constantine: no, it's not because of that. i'm perfectly fine, you know, i'm afraid your suspicions are completely wrong.
alexandria shrugs slightly and looks down in a shy way, putting her hand in her pocket.
alexandria: um... I have a gift for you. I made it a while back, and i've kept it all this time, in case I ever met you.
she looks up, pulling a small lump of brown paper out of her pocket.
constantine unwraps it and examines the contents: two bell charms and a string with two pieces of shimmering blue glass attached.
constantine: you made these?
alexandria: yeah. mom owns a jewelry shop, and I help her out, so...
constantine rewraps the charms, looking suitably impressed.
constantine: well, thank you, er- I apologize, what's your name?
alexandria: oh- i'm alexandria, but most everyone calls me alex, so I go by that.
constantine nods.
constantine: well, thank you, alexandria. if you really don't want to come with me to the castle, I can only hope we'll meet again. maybe I can arrange a visit to that shop of yours.
alexandria's eyes visibly brighten.
alexandria: yes, I would like that!
constantine watches alexandria for a second and then, with her free hand, pulls her scarf from around her neck.
constantine: have this. you do seem very cold.
constantine nods and, without further ado, exits the graveyard after handing alexandria her scarf.
